meco34TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - DeMeco will lace it up one last time at the University of Alabama on Wednesday as he participates in the annual Pro Day. Each year representatives from virtually every NFL team show up in Tuscaloosa to get a closer look at former Tide players headed for the pro's.

Pro Days signify the beginning of the end for pre draft workouts, a sight DeMeco is looking forward to seeing. "I'm just ready to get into some football situations," Ryans says. "The combines were made up of alot of things that doesn't necessarily relate to football. The teams are trying to see what type of person you are off the field. Thankfully that part of it is over and we can get down to some football. You have to keep plugging away and understand that the workouts, interviews and testing are all part of your progression to the NFL. Everyone has to do it."

Since ending his collegiate career at Alabama on January 2, DeMeco has participated in the Senior Bowl, NFL Combines in Indianapolis and Wednesday's Pro Day. While a month has seperated each workout, Ryans has not rested on the laurels of his collegiate career to improve his draft status. Six hour per day workouts, six days a week have given DeMeco not only the physical improvement it will take on the next level but also improved his confidence on making the jump to the next level. "It's been a long haul. I haven't really had any time off. After the Cotton Bowl I was off to Arizona to train." Ryans continues, " I'm in the best shape I've ever been and feeling better physically than at any point in my career. The trainers in Arizona have worked us for the specific drills we're put through in workouts. I'm definitely prepared physically and mentally."

Wednesday's workout will be the final pre-draft group session for DeMeco. Teams interested in his services will hold individual workouts beginning next week and leading up to the draft. Up first for individual workouts is the New England Patriots on Monday.

Check back Wednesday night for an update from Bama Pro Days.
