TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - After completing the combines on Tuesday afternoon, DeMeco returned to Tuscaloosa for the Alabama-Auburn basketball game where he joined fellow Tide teammates in receiving the 2006 Cotton Bowl Trophy. In addition to receiving the team honors, DeMeco picked up another individual award as the Cotton Bowl's Defensive MVP. Alabama defeated Texas Tech 13-10 in the January 2 game. Joining DeMeco is former Tide quarterback Brodie Croyle who was named the Cotton Bowl's Offensive MVP.
On Tuesday DeMeco showed his skills for NFL scouts and coaches at the league's annual combine in Indianapolis. Unlike some in attendance who chose to skip portions of the drills, DeMeco completed the entire field. In what is probably the most publicized drill of the combine, the 40-yard dash, DeMeco ran a 4.62. Officially weighing in at 236 pounds with a hieghth of 6'11/2", he had a second best broad jump with a 10.89 feet performance. After his trip to Tuscaloosa, DeMeco returns to the grind of workouts in anticipation of April's NFL Draft. His next workout for potential NFL employers is March 15 at the University of Alabama's Pro Days. |
