A month since playing his last football game as an amatuer, Demeco left the warmth and sunny skies of Arizona on Saturday for the cool and windy confines of Indianapolis and the NFL Scouting Combines. Demeco joins over 300 invitees at this year's combines, all hoping to impress NFL front office staff and improving their status going into April's draft. This year's combine schedule is different than some of the past with linebacker's and defensive backs working out on Tuesday.First on the agenda for Demeco and his fellow linebackers is a welcome dinner hosted by Jeff Foster of National Combine Inc. National Combine Inc. is the mastermind of the NFL Combines and have turned a player's showcase into a national event. After the welcome dinner, the players will have a short night as they awake at 6 a.m. for drug testing before heading over to the RCA Dome for for height, weight, hands and arm length measurements and then physicals. A process that is not only mentally taxing but also physically. With so many invitees attending this year's combines long lines are a certain.
The combines are DeMeco's second round of NFL testing after completing his first during the week of this year's Senior Bowl. Unlike quarterbacks Matt Leinart and Vince Young who have opted out of passing drills at the combine, Demeco will perform each drill linebackers are scheduled to perform. More updates and comments from DeMeco on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. |
