Thanks for a great day...First, I want to thank all the fans who came by to see at the Bryant Museum on Saturday. You guys don’t understand how much your words of encouragement fuels my fire to succeed. Words cannot express the feeling you all gave me when I stepped on to the field at the end of the third quarter. Days like Saturday are why former players like myself, who cannot find words to express Alabama fans. You guys are great. I also want to thank all of you who listened and called me on the Rick and Bubba Show. Stay in it and keep the army strong. It was also great to see and spend some time with Shaun Alexander on Saturday. Here’s hoping #37 gets that foot healed and back on the field. I flew back to Houston on Sunday afternoon. We will begin to prepare for the Cowboys on Monday and head to Dallas on Saturday. I’ll check back later in the week. Once again, thanks for making Saturday a special day for me, it was a truly humbling experience. Roll Tide, DeMeco |

Colts game history, Redskins come to town... Last Sunday we faced one of the best offenses in the history of the NFL. Peyton Manning is a future hall of famer and once again showed why he is the best quarterback in the league. Yet, when all was said and done and we had lost 43-24 to the Colts, I think the key to the loss was us beating our selves. When you play a team like the Colts you have to alleviate all mistakes, play fundamentally sound and stay in position. Some teams may not recognize your mistakes but Peyton and the Colts capitalize on each and every mistake. They don’t run hurry up offense but the no huddle puts more pressure on the defense to line up quickly because you never know when they will snap the ball. Defensively I think we got a little better against the Colts. We did give up 43 points and made a lot of mistakes but I do think our attitude improved. Although we were down by several points, I didn’t see anyone giving up, all of us fought to the end. Attitude is a very important aspect of the game and hopefully a step on the ladder of success we’ve already taken. |
